The new Board of Directors of the society, which was elected during the last General Assembly that took place on the 9th of March 2025 is the following:

Georgios Vorropoulos (30th class)Lieutenant General (Air Force, Ret.) Honorary Inspector General of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff He graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Academy, Engineering Department (SMA), in 1982 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant with the specialty of Electronics Engineer. In March 2016, he retired honorably after successfully completing his career, holding the terminal rank of Lieutenant General (Air Force). Upon retirement, he was awarded the honorary title of Inspector General of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, a position he had held for three years. During his 38-year career in the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), he served in assignments corresponding to his specialty and rank at all levels of Air Force command. He also served for three years as National Representative to NC3A/NATO in Brussels on communications and information systems matters. The most significant senior leadership positions he held include: Commander, 128 Signal, Electronic & Telecommunications Wing Director of Information Technology, Hellenic Air Force General Staff Director of Support Branch, Air Force Training Command Director of Support Branch, Tactical Air Force Headquarters Director of Support Branch, Hellenic Air Force General Staff Chief of Staff, Air Force Support Command Inspector General, Hellenic Air Force General Staff In addition to the above duties, he concurrently served as: Chairman of the Technical Councils for Projects of the Air Force Training Command, Air Force Support Command, and Tactical Air Force Chairman of the Air Force Technical Council for Projects and Studies and of the Administrative Appeals Review Board Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Law Entity SEPA Member of the Board of Directors of the Ministry of National Defence Public Law Fund (TAA) Member of the Supreme Air Force Council He is a graduate of the Air War College (Joint Staff Officers Course) and the Hellenic National Defence General Staff Computer Programming School. He holds a Class A Radio-Electronics Engineer License. He is fluent in English. For his services to the Hellenic Air Force, he has been awarded all prescribed medals and decorations by the President of the Hellenic Republic. He has been a member of the Scientific Association of Air Force Engineers since 1982. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee, and from 2022 to 2025 as a member of the Board of Directors. He currently serves as Vice President of the Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Federation of Military Personnel, responsible for international relations. He has also served as Vice President of the Hellenic Air Force Veterans Association. He is married and the father of two children.

General Secretariat

Georgios Seretis (42th class) Colonel (retired) HAF
He graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Academy, Department of Engineering, in 1994 and served at the 117 Combat Wing until 2000, and at the 112 Combat Wing from 2000 to 2013, where he served as a flight engineer on SUPER PUMA helicopters, chief engineer, and Commander of the Helicopter Maintenance Squadron. From 2013 to 2016, he served as staff officer and section chief of the G1 Directorate of the Air Support Command, from which he retired. He holds an EASA Part-66 aircraft maintenance license and works as Training Manager at AVIATEC (EASA Part-147 Training Organization). He is married and has two sons.

Ioannis Balitsaris (33rd class) Colonel(Ret.) (Eng.) I graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Academy (SMA) in 1985, 33rd Engineering Class. I served in the following Hellenic Air Force (HAF) units: • 114 Combat Wing – Radar Workshop for Mirage F1CG aircraft of the Combat Support Squadron (MSB) and Head of the Quality Control Section. • CETA–ETHM – Responsible operator for HAF research and applied programs. Design, development, and construction of a Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) Early Threat Warning System. Successful installation on F-5A aircraft and successful operational evaluation tests. Study of NATO Electronic Warfare exercises MACE & EMBOW Trials, concerning the countering of Radar and IR (Infrared) threats. Analysis of results and submission of the study to the competent HAF authorities (HAF General Staff / G3 and GS / A1/4). Feasibility Study for the installation of RWR systems on HAF C-130H aircraft and submission to the HAF General Staff. • HAF GS / A1/4 – Electronic Warfare (EW) Staff Officer. • HAF GS / G3/4 – Head of the Electronic Warfare Section. • GDAEE – Responsible for Monitoring and Implementation of HAF Offset Agreements. • HNDGS / DYPO – Staff Officer responsible for monitoring the implementation of NATO Radar and Telecommunications programs, for the benefit of Greece (and beyond), particularly the Hellenic Air Force. ________________________________________ EDUCATION & TRAINING • Advanced Training School for Second Lieutenants (Engineering), 128 SETI, six-month duration. Graduated 1st, with a grade of 97%. • Graduate of the Electronic Warfare School (EW School) of KEAT, exclusively for Engineering Officers of the HAF Academy. Graduated 1st, with a grade of 100%. • Graduate of the Electronic Warfare School for Middle Ranks, Germany. • Advanced Electronic Warfare training at Tracor, USA, six-month duration, specializing in Chaff & Flares Dispenser Systems. • Graduate of a two-year Continuing Education Program of EL.KE.PA. for university graduates, in Programming and Systems Analysis. • Holder of Class A Radio-Electrician License. I submitted my resignation and retired from the Hellenic Air Force in September 2009, with the rank of Wing Commander. ________________________________________ INTERESTS I enjoy basketball, football (soccer), skiing, mountaineering, and excursions to the beautiful places of our country.

Dimitrios Demagkos (31st class) He was born in Afidnes, Attica, in 1960. He graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Academy (Engineering Branch – SMA) in 1983 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Air Force Installations Engineer. He subsequently studied at the University of Patras, Faculty of Civil Engineering. He is a graduate of the Air War College (Senior Officers Course) and the Hellenic National Defence College in Defence and Strategic Studies. He received specialized training in the United States in active and passive fire protection and infrastructure fire safety, graduating first in his class and receiving a Letter of Commendation from the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Airport Planning and Management from Loughborough University of Technology (United Kingdom), awarded with distinction. He has served as: Director of the Supervising Authority for Major HAF Projects in Crete, Karpathos, and Santorini (3rd Regional Air Force Infrastructure Command, 1993–1996), Director of Installations and Projects, Air Force Training Command (2003), Director of the Supervising Authority for Major HAF Projects nationwide (2nd Regional Air Force Infrastructure Command, 2005–2006), Deputy Head of the Air Force Infrastructure Authority (2007), First Commander of the 206th Air Force Infrastructure Wing (2008–2010). During his command, the Wing and its personnel received 23 commendations for meritorious service. From 1999 to 2001, he served at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), Mons, Belgium, as Infrastructure Project Engineer responsible for all Alliance airfields, where he received an “Outstanding” performance evaluation. In 2004, he was assigned to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Directorate of Defence Policy and International Relations, working on military cooperation programs with new NATO member states and on the Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement (MDCA) with the United States. Alongside his official duties, he taught at Hellenic Air Force schools: 1988–1992 at the Non-Commissioned Officers Technical School (Strength of Materials and Engineering Mechanics), 2000–2010 at the Hellenic Air Force Academy, Engineering Department (Airport Design, Runway and Pavement Construction, Explosives Engineering, Rock Excavation Techniques, and Demolition Engineering). He has extensive academic, research, and publishing work in the field of airports and infrastructure and made a substantial contribution to the book “Airports” by Professor Evangelos Matsoukis of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Patras. He has been invited as a delegate and speaker at numerous international conferences on airports and infrastructure. In 2010, he voluntarily retired from the Hellenic Air Force for reasons of principle and personal integrity and continued his professional engagement in the field of airport engineering and infrastructure.
