In 1979, 25 retired Officers, graduates of the Department of Engineers of Hellenic Air Force Academy (SMA), decided to establish a Club, the Hellenic Air Force Engineers Scientific Society (HAFESS), having all graduates of SMA as members.
The team, after continuous meetings edited and agreed upon a Statute consisting of 36 Articles. The Statute was approved on November 30, 1980, and was formally recognized by the Athens Courts on 30 January 1981.
