Member

Major General (Ret.) Nikolaos Margaritis 32nd Class of the Air Force Academy (Engineering Branch – Telecommunications) Born on the island of Naxos, he entered the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1980. Throughout his career in the Hellenic Air Force, he served in several key and critical positions, including: • Hellenic Air Force Academy / 32nd Engineering Class / 20th Telecommunications Course • 114th Combat Wing (334 Squadron, 342 Squadron, Maintenance Squadron, Support Directorate Staff, Flight Test & Evaluation) • Air Support Command (A3 – Training; C3 – Radar, Weapons Systems, Communications, Aircraft Telecommunications, Flight Check, Calibration, Electronic Warfare) • 140th Electronic Warfare Wing, serving as Director of Support • Hellenic National Defence General Staff, as Head of the Secure Communications Section and representative to NATO Subcommittee 4 (Information Assurance) • Tactical Air Force Headquarters (C6 Directorate), as Director of Communications and Information Systems, until 2011 He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA–International) in International Business Administration from the Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly ASOEE). Since 2012, he has periodically served as a Board Member of the Hellenic Air Force Academy Graduates Association and is a member of the Air Force Academy (AAKE) and the Hellenic Air Force Academy Alumni Association (SASI). He is married, has two daughters, and one granddaughter.

Major General (Ret.) Dimitrios Bakalis (36th class) Born in 1966, he is a graduate of the 36th class of the Hellenic Air Force Academy. During his career in the Hellenic Air Force, he served in the following positions: • At the 110th Combat Wing (337 Squadron, Flight Test & Evaluation, and Director of Support) • At the 11th Combat Wing (330 Squadron, Chief Engineer) • At the Tactical Air Force Headquarters (Staff Officer, Section Head and Director at the A1 and Air Defence & Planning Directorates) • At Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) Izmir (Logistics and Air Planning Team) • At the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (Section Head at the former C6 Directorate, now D3) • As Commander at the Hellenic Air Force Aircraft Depot (HAFAD) He retired in 2022 from the position of Branch Chief (A3) at the Tactical Air Force Headquarters. He currently works at Apella SA as a Lockheed Martin Local Country National representative, supporting the F-16 Viper upgrade program at Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI), serving in a Quality Assurance role. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Quality Assurance from the Hellenic Open University. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, hiking in the Greek mountains, and volunteering in the maintenance and preservation of the historic trails of Mount Athos.
